Hello! I’m Sharee Hayes, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you and how it led me to create a Quest for Learning. My adventure in education began back in 2009, when I took my first steps into the world of teaching at a childcare center. Growing up, I always had a passion for education, stemming from my early babysitting gigs. Those experiences planted the seeds of my desire to make a difference in children's lives.

 

As I transitioned into the public school system, I started as a paraprofessional. It wasn’t long before I had the incredible opportunity to teach my own kindergarten classroom. My teaching style has always revolved around hands-on, whole-brain learning, making education interactive, engaging, and, most importantly, fun! This approach not only captivates young minds but also fosters a love for learning that I believe is essential for every child.

 

I also pursued my education while being a full-time mom, achieving my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science. Balancing school, work, and motherhood taught me the importance of perseverance, and I wanted to set a positive example for my children. I believe that no matter what life throws at you, you can always rewrite your own story.

 

Being a career mom has been a rewarding journey, and education provided the perfect balance for me. Working at the childcare center allowed me to bring my children along, ensuring they were safe while I made a living to support our family. It was a beautiful blend of motherhood and career, and I cherish those moments.

 

When the pandemic hit, it was a pivotal moment for me. I felt a strong pull to embrace my entrepreneurial spirit and explore new avenues. I ventured into various businesses, from dispatching to designing clothes and creating custom T-shirts. Some were successful, while others served as stepping stones, guiding me toward my true passion—creating a Quest for Learning.

 

This venture allows me to combine my love for teaching with my entrepreneurial drive. Through on-site field trips and hands-on learning experiences, I aim to provide students with the tools they need to thrive. I witnessed firsthand how education often prioritizes data and assessments over the individual needs of learners. That realization inspired me to create a Quest for Learning, where I could focus on personalized, experiential learning through literacy and STEAM-based activities.

 

I firmly believe that every child learns differently, and it’s crucial to provide them with tangible experiences that enhance their understanding and retention of knowledge. My mission is to create a nurturing environment where children can explore, discover, and thrive—both in and out of the classroom.
